Many women with naturally large breasts face a daily struggle with the significant size and weight of their bust.
These women find themselves facing skin irritation, difficulty exercising and often severe upper back, neck and shoulder pain. For them, a Breast Reduction can be life changing. Undergoing a Breast Reduction will instantly allow you more freedom in the clothes you wear, make exercise and activity easier and more enjoyable, and make your daily life more comfortable by alleviating pain.
What It Involves
A Breast Reduction will reduce the size of your breasts while at the same time lifting and improving their shape. The procedure involves removing excess breast tissue and overlying skin, and repositioning the nipple to the middle of the breast. The remaining breast tissue is then elevated and reshaped, before being repositioned to the appropriate location on the chest wall.
What to Expect
In your initial consultation with Dr Andrew Broadhurst, you’ll discuss your medical history, pregnancy plans (if relevant) and undertake an examination of your chest wall and breasts. Together, you will then discuss your treatment plan in detail and how a Breast Reduction can help alleviate strain and achieve the look you’re after. Dr Broadhurst will also talk you through the ins and outs of your procedure, and outline what you can expect after your surgery and in the early recovery period.
A second consultation will be scheduled prior to surgery to ensure you have a complete understanding of your procedure and to give you an opportunity to ask any further questions. This consultation is at no cost to you.
A Breast Reduction is performed as a day surgery procedure under a general anaesthetic. Depending on the extent of physical activity you undertake, you should fully recover within one to two weeks thanks to Dr Andrew Broadhurst’s rapid recovery technique.
